Aimee Cohen and Cheryl Boyd

Cheryl Ann Boyd,  Creative Producer “CAB” studied theatre, communications and business in college, and holds an MBA from Webster University.  While a student, she was in a for children improv troupe, “The Pooh Players.”  After a 27 year corporate and small business career, she was the Executive Producer on Ridgefield Theater Barn’s Board of Directors.  CAB liaised to RTB’s Writer’s Group, was an original player of RTB’s improv troupe for 10 years, and for 8 years created/developed and produced An Evening of One-Acts, bringing creativity from new, original plays, directors, artists and actors. She has studied improv at NYC’s The PIT, The People’s Theatre in Issaquah, WA and The Curious Comedy Theater in Portland, OR.

CAB first sang, “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better” from Annie Get Your Gun in the first grade, and has sung with groups, choirs & bands since.  Singing around town at various restaurants and town events with the band CANDLEWOOD, playwright friend Mel Power, with a Nashville/Music Industry background, suggested morphing the Bluebird Cafe’s Songwriter Circle into something that could work here. The Workshop Collective began in October 2021. We started showcasing Songwriting at Sugar Hollow and have slowly integrated more forms of storytelling. CAB lives in Ridgefield, is a realtor, manages Rental Space for The First Congregational Church, and loves being in the LIONS Club, the oldest Service organization in town and one of the largest in the world!  Look for the LION as town eventsCheryl.Boyd@raveis.com, RentalCoordinator@firstcongregational.com, workshopcollectivect@gmail.com, candlewoodtheband@gmail.com.

Aimee D. Cohen, The daughter of an Artist, and a New Yorker at her core, Aimee understands Storytelling and the Art of just about everything.  A background in private banking for high net worth clients sharpened Aimee’s skills of organizing, anticipating and problem solving, which she put to good use volunteering in the classroom for the school system, her temple, and running fundraisers while raising a daughter and son.

Cheryl and Aimee met thru Aimee’s husband Matt, a drummer, & realized they are neighbors!  Aimee lent her skill set to CAB, running auditions for the One-Acts at the Theater Barn. Often there were over 50 actors vying for 24 roles, and 5 to 7 different spots for actual auditioning!  Thru that, they realized they work well together.

Most recently, Aimee has dedicated much of her time to helping those with disabilities. She has co-chaired several large fundraising events including 2021’s “We All Shine On” fair in Ridgefield to promote awareness of resources available for the disabled, and to raise money for the Prospector Theater, a leader in our community for employment of adults with disabilities. Aimee is also on the Bo of the Ridgefield LIONS Club.
